Hiveware® for Word makes it possible (and easy!) for two or more people to simultaneously contribute to one Microsoft Word document. Each person can write or edit portions of the document at the same time without interfering with each other.

Hiveware® for Word is not a complex virtual meeting or desktop sharing software. Rather, it is an almost-invisible Addin for Microsoft Word 2007/2010/2013. It makes each user’s copy of Microsoft Word communicate so that all team members have a copy of the entire evolving document.

Think of what this means for smoothing the process of collaboratively producing documents like reports, proposals, white papers, manuals, etc. Each team member can freely work on their assigned portion(s) of the collaborative document. All team members can see the whole document at all times, so they can see and refer to the other members’ portions – and even add cross references to other elements. Features like Word’s paragraph numbering and table of contents stay up-to-date for all team members automatically. This completely eliminates the painful and error-prone after-the-fact merge that is normally required when multiple authors produce portions of a document independently. With Hiveware® for Word, when the last author is done the document is done.
